Finally, something Boomers and Millennials can agree on. We see it everywhere now - coffee, beer, pet treats, oils, gummies, even water. But what exactly is CBD and why should you consider adding it to your wellness routine?
First, let's get this out of the way. CBD will not get you high. Great, let's continue...
As the research grows, CBD is quickly becoming a substance of interest with a wide range of loyal fans. Anxiety and chronic pain are two of the major conditions being managed by CBD use.
A bit of science: The Cannabis plant is composed of hundreds of cannabinoids, but the two most prevalent are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). THC is a compound with psychoactive properties and contributes to the feeling of "getting high." CBD is a chemical compound found in both hemp and marijuana, which are varieties of the Cannabis sativa plant. Regardless of the plant source, CBD is a non-psychoactive compound with relaxing and therapeutic properties.
The CBD in our products is sourced exclusively from hemp grown in local Colorado farms. Under Federal Law, all products must contain less than 0.3% detected THC to be sold legally in the United States. The CBD in our product contains 0% THC. Our hemp products undergo third party testing to ensure purity of CBD, and that they are free of residual solvents and metals.
No one likes a label, but it's important that your CBD has one. Full spectrum, broad spectrum, isolate - there's a lot to take in. Not all CBD is created equally and it can make a massive difference in your body, your mind, and your wallet...
Full Spectrum: Contains the full array of compounds produced by its source plant.
She's a whole lotta' woman. Think of this as your unapologetic Aunt who has no filter. Never failing to get the job done, she shows up as her full self, raw and uncut.
Broad Spectrum: Contains a broad array of the compounds produced by its source plant - but THC is removed.
She's reasonable and inclusive. Think of this as your responsible older sister. A responsible older sister who will still give you a sip of her wine on your 18th birthday ;)
Isolate: Contains only CBD - all other compounds have been removed.
She doesn't even think dirty thoughts. Think of this as your high school Valedictorian. Perfect teeth, spotless record, not even one tardy.
Let's get technical for a second. Inside every human is an endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system has been linked to biological functions including pain perception, appetite, stress, memory, mood regulation, and immune response. The primary role of the ECS is to maintain internal homeostasis. In other words, keep everything calm, cool and collected.
Endocannabinoids are naturally produced by our bodies in times of distress. Sometimes, our neurons are overactive and produce too many signals (think anxiety, pain, hunger, etc.). The ECS detects this over-activity and begins to send out response signals for the neurons chill and return to homeostasis. Cannabinoids like CBD naturally bind to receptors in the ECS, helping the mind and body mellow out.
